Watermark-free captioning

# Free Captions, No Watermark

Clean burn-inNo logoNo signup wall

Free tiers on online caption tools usually come with a watermark on the export. The product reasoning is straightforward: the watermark exists to remind viewers where the captioned video came from, which generates referral traffic, which justifies running the free tier. The user-side reasoning against it is also straightforward: a watermarked video looks unprofessional on every platform and gets a measurably lower engagement rate compared to the same content without one.

## About Free Captions, No Watermark

The export on this page has no watermark. No VidStudio logo in the corner, no signature in the burn-in pixel band, no metadata tag inside the MP4 that some viewer is going to spot in their video player. The captioned video contains your footage and the captions in the styling you picked, and that is everything.

The reason a watermark-free free tier works here is the same reason no-signup works: nothing about the caption job runs on a server we are operating, so there is no per-job cost that needs to be recouped through watermarks, signup gates, or feature paywalls. The captioning runs on your laptop CPU.

## When this fits

#### Client deliverables

Captioned video sent to a client must not carry a third-party logo. A watermark on free-tier output ends client work before it starts.

#### Paid social campaigns

Promoted Reels and TikToks get rejected by ad platforms when they carry visible logos from other services. Clean output passes ad review.

#### YouTube monetisation reviews

YouTube's manual review for monetisation can flag third-party watermarks as unoriginal content. Watermark-free captions remove that risk.

#### Brand consistency

When the rest of your content is brand-clean, a free-tier captioning watermark breaks the visual identity. Output that contains only your footage keeps the brand intact.

## How to add captions to a video without a watermark

#### 1 Drop your video

No signup gate before this step. The upload zone accepts any video format.

#### 2 Generate captions

Whisper transcribes locally. Fix any words it got wrong inline.

#### 3 Style and preview

Pick a caption preset and watch the live overlay. The preview is identical to the export, with no watermark stamped onto either.

#### 4 Export clean MP4

Click Burn in. The downloaded MP4 contains your footage and captions with zero added branding.

## Frequently asked questions

### How is this free without a watermark?

Captioning runs on your laptop, not on our server. We have no per-job hosting cost to recoup with a watermark, so there is no commercial reason to put one on the export. The free tier is the only tier on this page.

### Is there a hidden watermark in the metadata?

No. The MP4 output is a standard H.264 file with AAC audio. The metadata fields are blank except for what your source file already had. You can verify with ffprobe or any MP4 inspector if you want to confirm.

### What about Kapwing's and VEED's watermarks?

Both have watermarks on their free-tier exports as of the current versions of those products. Kapwing's appears in the lower right; VEED's sits in the upper left. Removing either requires a paid plan, currently starting at 16 to 20 USD per month.

### Will future features add a watermark to the free tier?

The caption flow described on this page stays watermark-free. Future features oriented at enterprise or regulated industries may sit behind a paid tier, but the core captioning, editing, and burn-in described here remain free with no watermark.

### Can I add my own watermark to the output?

Not on this page directly. If you want a logo on the captioned video, run it through the watermark tool after captioning, or use the video editor where text and image overlays are first-class features.

Privacy by architecture

## All processing happens locally in your browser, and your files never leave your device.

No upload step, no server queue, no waiting.

Verify in 30 seconds

1. 01`⌘⌥I` Open DevTools and switch to the Network panel.
2. 02 Filter to fetch and XHR requests.
3. 03 Drop your file in and start the tool.
4. 04 You will see the app bundle, the WASM binary on first visit, and nothing involving your file.

How this works

Video and audio processing runs through FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Hardware decoding goes through the browser's WebCodecs API. Speech recognition runs against a Whisper model that downloads once and caches in your browser, never streamed from a third-party server.
