Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to use the editor?

No. No email, no signup, no SSO, no credit card. The editor loads as soon as the page loads. Clicking New Project opens a fresh timeline immediately.

Is there a free trial that asks me to sign up later?

No. There is no trial because there is no paid tier for the core editor. Free with no watermark and no signup is the product.

Can I save projects without an account?

Yes. Projects save to your browser's IndexedDB storage, scoped to this site and to your browser profile. Coming back to the same browser on the same device brings your projects back. Clearing browser storage wipes them.

What happens if I switch browsers or devices?

Your projects do not follow you. Since there is no cloud, there is no cross-device sync. If you need your edit on another device, export the MP4 first and reopen it on the other machine, or re-import the source clips and rebuild the timeline.

Can two people edit the same project?

Not at the same time, because there is no shared server to synchronise through. If you need real-time collaboration, Kapwing is a better fit. If you need privacy and no-signup, this is.

Why do other editors require signup?

Most of them upload your file to their server and want an identity to associate with the stored project. When the file stays in your browser, there is nothing to associate with an account, so the account step is just friction.

Your video never leaves your device

All processing happens locally in your browser, and your files never leave your device. The editor reads your video file through a standard browser file input, holds the bytes in memory, processes them in a Web Worker against WebCodecs and FFmpeg WASM, and writes the final MP4 back to your disk. No upload, no cloud rendering, no external copy.
