About Auto Captions, No Signup

This page does not ask. Drop a video, wait for the transcription, edit any mistakes, and download. The captions live on your machine because they were generated on your machine. There is no account to create, no email to confirm, no Google sign-in popup, and no Stripe wall in front of the file.

The reason the no-signup model is sustainable here is that the cost of running the caption job sits on your CPU, not on a server we are paying for. Nobody is metering you because there is no meter. The closest equivalent comparison is a desktop application: you install it once and it works without authentication, except that the install step is also gone because the page is the application.

When this fits

One-off captioning jobs

When you need captions for a single video and have no plan to do this regularly, creating an account is pure friction with no future payoff.

Captioning on a borrowed device

On a coworker's laptop, a hotel business centre PC, or an internet cafe machine, signing up for a free account leaves a footprint you do not need.

Quick tests before committing to a workflow

When you are evaluating tools, the ability to try this one without signing up means you can compare it against your current flow in 5 minutes instead of an hour.

Shared team accounts

When a team uses captioning ad-hoc, a single shared account on a competitor tool creates billing and access weirdness. A no-signup option avoids the problem.

How to caption a video without signing up

1 Load the page

No signup prompt, no email gate. The captioning UI is the first thing you see.

2 Drop your video

The upload box accepts any video or audio file. No account check.

3 Edit and style

Use the inline transcript editor and the styling presets without any plan or tier restriction.

4 Download

Export the SRT, VTT, or MP4 directly to your disk. No email confirmation, no payment wall.

Frequently asked questions

How is this free if there is no signup?

The cost of running the caption job sits on your laptop CPU. There is no server we are paying to run captioning, so there is no per-job cost we need to recoup. The tool itself is open to anyone who loads the page.

Will I be prompted to sign up partway through?

No. Signup is not in the flow anywhere, including the export step. The SRT and the burned-in MP4 both download to your disk without prompting for an email.

Do I lose my work if I close the tab?

The video and the transcript stay in browser memory only for the duration of the tab. Closing the tab clears them. If you want to preserve the captions, export the SRT, VTT, or MP4 before closing.

Are there any features locked behind a future paid plan?

Not on this page. The caption generation, the inline transcript editor, the styling presets, the burn-in, and the SRT and VTT exports are all available without a plan.

What happens if I want to come back later?

Just load the page again. Nothing remembers you, which is also the point. No bookmark, no resume link, no draft saved server-side. Each session starts clean.

Your video never leaves your device

All processing happens locally in your browser, and your files never leave your device. The page reads your video through a standard browser file input, holds the bytes in memory, runs Whisper for speech recognition in a Web Worker, and writes the captioned MP4 back to your disk. No upload, no cloud transcription queue, no external copy.
