Watermark-free editing
Free Video Editor, No Watermark
Here is the pattern in the free-tier video editing market. The app is advertised as free. You start editing, you hit export, and then the export has a watermark. Removing the watermark costs a subscription. Or the watermark is removable for a single "trial export" and every export after that applies it. Or the free tier only allows 720p and the watermark-free tier is 1080p.

About Video Editor, No Watermark
None of that happens here. Exports are free, watermark-free, and unlimited in count. The resolution of the export is whatever you choose in the encoder settings, up to the resolution of your source. There is no Pro tier that unlocks anything. There is no trial period.
Monetisation for this project is not yet decided. When it arrives, the mechanism will not be watermarking the free tier. It will probably be a feature set aimed at regulated industries (redaction, metadata stripping, compliance-grade exports) that is genuinely different from what the free editor does, rather than withholding a core feature and selling it back. The point is to be honest about what free means.
When to use this editor
Social posts
Export a clean MP4 with no branding in the corner. Upload to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, wherever, without a competitor's logo visible.
Client work
Freelancers cannot deliver a watermarked edit. Browser-local editing gives a clean export without paying a subscription.
Student projects
Class presentations with no "Edited with Some Software" stamp across the bottom of every clip.
Internal training
Training videos for a team or a classroom look more professional without a vendor watermark distracting viewers.
One-off edits
For a single quick edit, paying a subscription just to strip a watermark is absurd. Free and watermark-free is the right default.
How to Export Without a Watermark
1 Edit your video
Drag a file in, cut and arrange clips on the timeline, add any overlays or text.
2 Click Export
Choose your resolution and bitrate. No step in the dialog asks you to upgrade to remove a watermark.
3 Download the MP4
The file saves to your device with no vendor branding in any corner of the frame.
Frequently asked questions
Is VidStudio actually free, or does free mean watermarked?
Actually free. Exports have no watermark. There is no Pro tier that unlocks watermark removal. There is no trial period that expires. No credit card required.
How do you make money if the editor is free?
We do not yet. The current product stays free and watermark-free. Future monetisation will likely target a compliance or redaction feature set for regulated industries, which is different from the free editor and does not involve removing a core capability from it.
Will you add a watermark later?
No commitment to ever adding one. Watermarking the free tier is a user-hostile pattern and we have not chosen it. If that changes, we will announce it and grandfather existing users, the same way any product that changes its pricing model transparently would.
Is the export resolution limited?
Export resolution matches your source resolution by default, up to 4K. There is no 720p ceiling or other artificial limit. Encoder settings are exposed so you can choose bitrate, codec profile, and frame rate explicitly.
How many times can I export per day?
No limit. Export as many times as you want, at whatever resolution. Each export runs in a Worker against FFmpeg WASM and saves the file directly to your device.
Is there a file size limit on exports?
No arbitrary cap. Practical limits come from your device's RAM, since the whole pipeline runs locally. Modern laptops handle 1080p clips up to about two hours without trouble.
Your video never leaves your device
All processing happens locally in your browser, and your files never leave your device. The editor reads your video file through a standard browser file input, holds the bytes in memory, processes them in a Web Worker against WebCodecs and FFmpeg WASM, and writes the final MP4 back to your disk. No upload, no cloud rendering, no external copy.
